Before embarking on a career as an architectural photographer Quintin graduated from the world renowned Architectural Association in London where he held a scholarship and worked at Grimshaw Architects on the Eden project.

His architectural training gives him an unparalleled understanding of the subject whilst his photographic approach is characterised by a fastidious attention to detail which translates into intelligent and refined images of your project.

The photography from his independent travels and his work as photographer on nine major expeditions have been published in the American Alpine Journal, Geographical Magazine and the Sunday Times Magazine and exhibited widely.

Quintin’s clients include the leading architects, interior designers, contractors, developers, engineers, publishers and magazines. His work is represented by VIEW pictures the leading architecture and interior design picture library.

His photography book “Drawing Parallels: Architecture Observed” published by Papadakis is a source of architectural inspiration from around the world with material drawn from travels in over 60 countries.

Richard Wentworth, who wrote the foreword, states "With the eye of Quintin Lake, you are reminded to look up. He alerts you to both meanings, not just the spatial one, ‘looking upwards’, but also the pleasurable pursuit of information, or the tracking down of an acquaintance, whether a person, a building, or a space."

Quintin is a member of The Association of Independent Architectural Photographers, a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and the Royal Society of Arts.
